About Me

IMG_2620_edit.jpg

My name is Natalie Simonov, a filmmaker specialising in directing and assistant directing, with skillsets across the editing and camera departments. I am a Griffith Film School graduate with a Bachelor of Film and Screen Media Production and currently partaking in a  Master of Screen Production.

My most notable roles include director of Smile: The Series (2021) which is currently in post production as a feature film, Wicked Faith, and director of the pilot episode of Keep Running Back (2023). I also have worked with Griffith Film School on a series of personal projects including Date Night (2024) and my upcoming feature film as my capstone project for my masters degree, The Cat (2026).

I have experience working on a variety of unique projects, including working with a virtual production screen, short dance films in collaboration with QUT dance students and outside broadcasting with Griffith Sport. I wholeheartedly enjoy filmmaking and I take all of my passion I can muster into any project I work on, no matter how small or how big the role is.

My biggest aspiration is  to develop personal projects as a writer and director. I'm inspired by media that makes me feel a deep emotional connection to characters and story, regardless of the medium, and I want the opportunity to do the same, to make an audience feel something, embodied with my creativity, passion and life experience.
